The tourist tax in Ukraine is a local fee, the funds from which go to the local budget. The decision to introduce this fee and its amount is made independently by local councils.
Payers of the tourist tax are tourists, i.e., individuals (citizens of Ukraine, foreigners, and stateless persons) who are temporarily accommodated in places of residence (lodging) defined by Article 268 of the Tax Code of Ukraine. Such places include:
- Hotels, campsites, motels, hostels for visitors, hostels.
- Recreation houses, tourist bases, mountain shelters, recreation camps, boarding houses.
- Residential houses, apartments, cottages, rooms, garden and country houses used for temporary accommodation.
It is important that the fee is paid for each day of temporary accommodation.
However, there is a number of categories of persons who are exempt from paying the tourist tax, in particular:
- Persons who permanently reside in the same village, town, or city where the fee is established.
- Persons who have arrived on a business trip.
- Persons with disabilities, children with disabilities, and persons accompanying them (no more than one accompanying person for a person with a disability of group I or a child with a disability).
- War veterans.
- Participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
- Children under the age of 18.
- Children’s medical and preventive, physical culture and health, and sanatorium-resort institutions.
- Family members of the first and second degree of kinship, as defined by the Tax Code.
Persons who have not provided documents confirming their eligibility for a preferential category are payers of the tourist tax on a general basis.
The tourist tax is collected by tax agents – legal entities or individual entrepreneurs who provide services for the temporary accommodation of tourists. They include the amount of the fee in the cost of accommodation, and tourists pay it when paying for their stay. Tax agents are responsible for transferring the collected funds to the local budget.
The amount of the tourist tax is set by local councils as a percentage of the minimum wage established on January 1 of the reporting year, or as a fixed amount. The maximum rate is:
- For domestic tourism: up to 0.5% of the minimum wage for each day of accommodation. In 2025, this may amount to approximately 40 UAH per day.
- For inbound tourism: up to 5% of the minimum wage for each day of accommodation. In 2025, this may amount to approximately 400 UAH per day.
Specific rates vary depending on the decision of each local council. For example, in Lviv, the current rate ranges from 0.2% to 0.5% depending on the cost of accommodation.

Questions about booking
Unfortunately, it is technically impossible to change the number of days after the booking is confirmed. However, you can contact us to discuss possible options.
Please note that reducing the number of days of stay below the minimum number of days set in the listing for booking is not possible.
Booking confirmation is usually sent to your email. If you have not received the letter, please check the status of your booking in your personal account on our website, in the “Bookings” section. All your current orders and their current status are displayed there.
To view information about all your orders, regardless of their current status (confirmed, pending confirmation, or already canceled), you need to log into your account on our service. There you will find a special section called “Bookings“, where the entire history of your requests will be collected.
For your booking to be finally confirmed, you often need to make a prepayment, which is called a deposit. This deposit may be equal to the cost of one night’s stay or be a part of the total cost of your stay. You pay the rest of the money when you arrive and check into the chosen place. You can pay the balance either in cash directly to the owner or by bank transfer to their account.
Of course, we understand that not everyone is comfortable using online services, especially older people. Therefore, if you are more comfortable booking accommodation by phone, please use the ‘Contacts‘ section on our website. By calling, you can inform us of your desired arrival and departure dates, the number of guests, and your special wishes. We will be happy to offer you available options that meet your needs for the specified period.
Help with your bookings
Imagine you’ve found a great place to stay and want to book it. To reserve it for yourself, you need to pay a small amount of money upfront – this is the deposit. If you don’t do this, your booking will simply be canceled, and someone else can book this place.
But sometimes unforeseen things happen, for example, something in the apartment might break, making it impossible to live there – say, there is no hot water or heating. In this case, the owner will offer you other accommodation options, perhaps a similar apartment nearby. If the proposed options do not suit you, and you cannot come to an agreement, then your initial booking will be canceled, and your deposit will be refunded. That is, you will not lose anything, even if such troubles arise.
We understand that sometimes situations occur where guests may forget personal belongings after checking out. In most cases, our cleaning service thoroughly inspects the premises and informs us of any found items. We will be happy to arrange for their return to you by a delivery service.
However, please note that small or inconspicuously located items may be overlooked during cleaning. In addition, if a forgotten item is reported a significant amount of time after your departure, when other guests are already staying in the accommodation, we cannot guarantee its safety and are not responsible for any personal belongings you leave behind.
To avoid such situations, we strongly recommend that you carefully check all your personal belongings before checking out of the accommodation.”
Booking accommodation is only possible after the host confirms your request. Until then, no actual booking is made. After receiving confirmation from the host, you can proceed to pay the deposit to finalize the reservation of the chosen accommodation.
Sometimes situations occur where we are physically unable to promptly eliminate all shortcomings or may not notice certain nuances during the preparation of the accommodation.
In case of any malfunctions upon arrival, please inform us immediately.
Please note that natural signs of wear and tear that do not affect the functionality of the objects in the apartment are not considered breakdowns and are not grounds for claims.
