Castles near Lviv

The best-known castles near Lviv, Olesko, Zolochiv and Pidhirtsi, are often called the Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region. All three lie east of Lviv, close to each other, so you can see them in a single trip. Each has its own story: King John III Sobieski was born at Olesko Castle, Zolochiv has a Chinese Palace next to the castle, and Pidhirtsi is a Renaissance palace with bastions and a park.
